The Jewish Federation Workum Summer Intern 2017: Writing/Marketing

Workum Intern job Description
The Federation marketing department is seeking an organized, self-motivated, excellent writer to act as a part-time copywriting and marketing intern. English, Writing or Journalism majors in their junior and senior years of college with past internship experience are preferred. Excellent communication skills, knowledge of proper spelling and grammar, a passion for writing and a strong attention to detail are essential to succeed in this position.

The Workum intern will work directly with our Content Strategist to develop and write a spectrum of “Why you Give” stories, told in first person, interviewing and writing each person's personal narratives about why they give to the Federation be it their time, to the annual campaign, a supplemental, and/or an endowment gift. The Workum intern would also assist in producing a video narrative to compliment the written series.


  • Complete assignments on time and work within tight deadlines
  • Send supervisor's progress updates throughout each week
  • Deliver 3-6 articles (100-200 words each) every week
  • Deliver 3-6 video testimonials every week
  • Spend a minimum of 4 hours per week in the office
  • Drafts sent for review should have very few or no spelling and grammar errors
  • Respond to feedback in a timely manner

Other Workum Intern tasks may include​:

  • Capture videos, photos, including 360 videos feeds of partner agencies/programs to use in social media
  • Public Relations
  • Community Calendar Entries
  • Assist in website updates for clients e.g. blog posts, community news
  • Assist in capturing digital analytics using Google Analytics and Sprout Social analytics
  • Digital photo file archiving (Project)
