Workum Summer Intern Program Job Description - 2007

The Options Cincinnati Program at Jewish Family Service is pleased to apply for a Workum Intern and benefit from the presence of an enthusiastic and committed college student. Options Cincinnati is an innovative National Demonstration Model that works with older people to help them to age in place in what are known as Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities (NORC). JFS is one of 41 sites nationally to have such a program.

An intern will work jointly with the Options Cincinnati team in the following areas, depending on the student's personal and academic strengths:
  • Planning and implementing social programs within our two NORC locations, Amberley House and Indian Creek.
  • Assisting with advocacy to secure funding through a Congressional Appropriations process.
  • Interfacing with other Jewish professionals in Cincinnati who work with the elderly, including staff at the JCC, Cedar Village and Kesher.
  • Grant writing.
  • Client and budget record-keeping, statistical summaries and quarterly reports.
  • Assisting in writing and distribution of monthly consumer newsletter.
The candidate should have access to a car and be willing to drive clients.

Please contact Ann Sutton Burke with any questions at (513) 766-3350.
