About the JCRC:
The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) serves as the public
affairs arm of the organized Jewish community. It is a non-profit
organization funded by the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati. The mission
of the JCRC of Cincinnati is to protect Jewish security, recognizing
that Jewish security depends on a just society for all. To achieve
its mission, the JCRC works on a broad range of local, national and
international issues, concentrating its efforts in the areas of Israel,
the Middle East and anti-Semitism.
Job Description:
The Workum Intern will have the opportunity to accompany the JCRC
Director to events and meetings with local community leaders.
On top of this,
the internship will include work in following areas:
- Donor Relations – help develop a package of funding opportunities
to present to Jewish donors interested in assisting the wider,
i.e. non-Jewish community.
- Young Professional Initiative – work with focus groups, help with
marketing
- JCRC Website/Materials – help us update our website and our informational
materials
- Media Relations – make contacts with local news outlets and strategize
about media relations
- Programming – help us plan and execute our events
- Research – keep up with current events for inclusion in our newsletter
- Curriculum Issues – we are interested in doing a basic audit of
references to Jews, Judaism and Israel in textbooks being
used by local high schools
