Maya
Ginsburg is currently a Junior at Dickinson College in Carlisle
Pennsylvania. She is studying political science and plans on attending
law school next year. At Dickinson, Maya is on the varsity tennis
team as well as a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Maya loves to
travel to Israel as well as Australia where she studied for a
semester during her Junior year. She is very excited to reconnect
with the Jewish community and for this great opportunity of working
with the Jewish Federation.
Maya

Alex
Howie graduated from Mason High School in 2007, where he was involved
with cross country and served as the president of Mason Business
Entrepreneurs. Currently a freshman at Miami University of Ohio,
he is an Accounting and Art Management double major. In the future,
with these degrees, Alex hopes to open an art gallery and fudge
shop. He believes that working with the American Jewish Archives
will enable him to gain useful experience that will help him in
later years. Currently, at Miami, Alex is involved with Miami
Students for Israel, as the VP of Finance, Aish and Hillel.
Alex will intern at the American Jewish
Archives.

Annie
Kanter just completed her Freshman year at American University
in Washington D.C. At AU, Annie participated in the Facilitating
Leadership in Youth tutoring program and is a member of Alpha
Epsilon Phi sorority. She graduated from Sycamore High School
in 2007. In the summer of 2006, she traveled on the Jewish Experience
trip to Israel and Poland sponsored by the Cincinnati Jewish Federation,
which inspired her interest in Holocaust studies. Annie enjoys
art, theater, history, reading, political rallies, spending time
with family and friends, traveling and appreciating the culture
of Washington, DC.
Annie
will intern at the Center for Holocaust
& Humanity Education.

Paula
Mermelstein graduated from Finneytown High School in 2007, and
currently attends Miami University in Oxford, OH, where she is
an honors student and Communications major. At school she is involved
with Miami Symphony Orchestra, Choraliers, Club Tennis, "The
Bayit", and Miami Students for Israel (MSI). Last November
she traveled to California with MSI for an Israel Advocacy Convention.
During High School Paula was involved with Congregation B'nai
Tzedek's USY chapter, serving as Membership/Kadima Vice President.
She also spent the summer of 2007 in Spain and Israel with USY.
Paula is thrilled about this upcoming summer, and looks forward
to working in the Cincinnati Jewish Community!
Paula
will intern at Jewish Vocational Service.

Graham
Mitro is currently a Freshman attending Kenyon College. He plans
to major in Greek and Latin and possibly something else in addition.
He graduated from Wyoming High School in 2007. He was a member
of NFTY, has visited Israel, and did volunteer work in San Francisco
through the Mitzvah Corps. He is excited to work for Workum this
summer!
Graham will intern at Hillel.

Leo
Nayfeld is a Freshman at Miami University, where he dual-majors
in Finance and Diplomacy & Foreign Affairs. A graduate of
Wyoming High School, he participated in varsity tennis, and at
Miami is the Vice President of Programming for Miami Students
for Israel. Leo loves to travel, especially to Israel. He is very
excited about interning at the Center for Jewish Education and
hopes to take away a lot of valuable work experience.
Leo
will intern at the Center for Holocaust
& Humanity Education.

Michael
Sarason is entering his senior year at DePaul University in Chicago,
Il, where he is studying public communication, psychology and
marketing. He graduated from Walnut Hills High School in the class
2005 and was an active member of NFTY as well as youth group president
of the Wise Temple Youth Group. Since that time, he became a founding
father of the Beta Delta Chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity
at DePaul, has remained an active member of the Hillel on campus
and participated in the Maimonides Leaders Fellowship program.
This past fall, he spent a semester abroad at Haifa University
in Israel. In addition, Michael is deeply tied to music and has
performed with his band, The Pinstripes, all across the U.S. from
Miami to New York City to Chicago for almost five years. He is
eager to be a part of the Workum summer program and hopes to be
able to give back to the wonderful community that raised him.
Michael will work at the Jewish Community Center as the Marketing
Intern.

Charlie
Saunders is finishing his freshman year at the University of Pittsburgh,
majoring in Engineering. Born in Connecticut, Charlie moved to
Pittsford, New York with his family in 1999 and graduated from
Pittsford Mendon High School in 2007. Charlie is a member of the
Pittsburgh Ultimate Frisbee team and had founded a youth club
team, BlueREY, while in high school. Charlie's family moved to
Cincinnati recently and this will be his first summer in Ohio.
Charlie
will intern at Cedar Village.

Sarah
Spitz is a 2007 graduate of Sycamore High School and a freshman
at Indiana University. During her first semester at IU, Sarah
participated in a Freshman Interest Group in Judaic Studies. She
is an education major and wants to work with special needs children.
Sarah has volunteered in the community as a tutor for elementary
and high school students and with the Interfaith Hospitality Network
serving homeless families. Sarah is excited to be a Workum intern
at the JCC and continue her interest in working with children.
Sarah
will work at the Jewish Community Center as the Programming
Intern.

Julia
Stern was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. Currently, she
is a freshman at Indiana University, hoping to go into speech
pathology with an area certificate in business. At Indiana University
she enjoys volunteering once a week at the Boys and Girls Club,
where she helps children with their homework. Last summer Julia
worked as a camp counselor at an overnight camp in Indiana. She
is very excited to be working with Jewish Family Service this
summer.
