WORKUM
SUMMER INTERN-2010 The Hillel Jewish Student Center seeks a summer intern to help staff run their summer programming for Jewish young adults and college students throughout Greater Cincinnati. The Workum Summer Intern would assist in the creation and implementation, as well as performing outreach and engagement, for these summer programs. In addition, summer is a critical time for college orientation at the University of Cincinnati, its professional schools, and other area colleges. The Workum Summer Intern would join the program staff in bringing Hillel to the attention of incoming, first-year students. This includes attending these college orientations and interacting with the incoming students. The intern will also be involved in creating calendars, brochures and other marketing materials as well as helping to maintain the Hillel website. They will also be involved in community service efforts, Israeli programming and assisting the staff in creating new ideas and strategies for the upcoming academic year. The Summer Intern of 2010 should be creative and organized. They should be familiar with computer practice such as data management using Microsoft Excel and Word. Hillel initiates outreach to high school students and their families, bringing the message of Jewish life on campus to Cincinnati area high schools and youth groups. The Workum Summer Intern is a full member of the Hillel staff and participates equally in staff meetings, administration, and professional development. Hillel’s professionals will also tailor their initiatives to allow the Intern to use his or her own strengths and interests to contribute to Hillel programming. Hillel Jewish Student Center in Cincinnati is a rare place that allows individual staff members to learn and to grow from each other and the college students they serve.
